Pro Tip: Customize Control Center on Mac

With macOS 11 Big Sur, Control Center has been included in the menu bar. This offers quick access to volume, brightness, network, and more. This tool is very similar to the control center on iOS with functionality and appearance.

The Control Center icon is in the top right-hand corner - between Spotlight and the date/time. Control Center comes with: WiFi, Bluetooth, Airdrop, Do Not Disturb, Screen Mirroring, Keyboard Brightness, Display, Sound, and Now Playing by default. You can also add 3 extra modules to Control Center: Accessibility Shortcuts, Battery, and Fast User Switching.

How to add modules to the Control Center:

  1. Open System Preferences, click on Dock & Menu Bar.

  2. In the left column, scroll down to Other Modules.

  3. Click whichever module(s) you'd like to add and check off Show in Control Center.
