
The iPhone automatically downloads app updates when you are on Wi-Fi, which helps ensure you have the latest version of apps with new features and bug fixes. But there are times that you may want to stop automatic app updates from occurring, either temporarily or permanently.
Follow these steps to turn off automatic app updates on your iPhone.
Go to Settings on your iPhone.
Under Settings, tap on iTunes & App Store.
Turn off the slider that says App Updates.
Follow these steps to manually update individual apps on your iPhone.
Open the App Store on your iPhone.
Click on your profile icon at the top of the screen.
Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app.
